This is the Finished item!

Mousie is about 7 " tall and wears footed PJs that have a trap door in the back. He has "kitty faces" on his footies. He carries a blankie in one hand and a piece of "cheese" in the other.

A warm and soft chunky circle cowl scarf all hand crocheted by me.

This is a beautiful olive green coloured cowl scarf.

My own design.

It will keep you nice and warm.

Approximately 42 inches long and 10 and 1/2 inches wide.

May be worn doubled for additional warmth.

This yarn is called Charisma

and is 100% acrylic, so it won't be itchy!

This adorable pattern includes instructions

Today is Australia Day and to celebrate I've made some Anzac Biscuits. My Grandmother (on my Mum's side) was born in Melbourne, Australia. She made these biscuits (cookies, here in the US). I've tweeked her recipe slightly with the addition of chocolate chips and raisins...yummy! Here's Grama's recipe with my modifications...

Anzac Biscuits
1 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
1/4 cup water
3 Tablespoons molasses
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup sultanas (golden raisins)
1/2 cup brown raisins

Oven at 350°.
Mix all ingredients in order listed. If dough seems to dry and crumbly, add water by the teaspoon full until dough holds together.
Shape into heaping tablespoonful rounds and place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes. Carefully remove on to a wire rack and cool thoroughly. Makes about 2 - 2 1/2 dozen biscuits. (Cookies) Store in an air tight container.

Here's a great recipe for Blueberry Coffee Cake I made today. I hoarded a few pints of blueberries this past summer and popped them in the freezer, so I have them for pancakes, etc. throughout the winter. This recipe is easy and quick to make. And yes, of course I ate the piece I cut for the picture. It was heavenly!

Blueberry Coffee Cake

Cake Batter

1/4 c. salad oil
1 beaten egg
3/4 - 1 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Topping
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. sugar
1 T. flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. - 3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 T. melted butter

1 c. fresh or thawed frozen blueberries

Combine oil, egg and milk. Add dry ingredients to milk mixture. Mix well. Stir in vanilla.

In another bowl, combine all ingredients for topping.

Pour cake batter in greased 9" square or 9" round pan. Spread blueberries evenly over batter. Top that with the cinnamon nut mixture. Bake in a 375° oven 25 - 35 minutes.
